Dearëst Zoë,
You gave us a heart attack yesterday. I found you with an empty bottle of Children's Tylenol and sticky lips. I called your doctor who advised taking you to All Children's Hospital. The road was blurry the entire way there because of the tears that kept welling up. I was so frightened for you and for ourselves. Being your parents is the joy of our lives and I look forward to an entire lifetime to spend with you.
Luckily, you didn't swallow enough for it to be toxic. In fact, other than the IV they put in, you had a lovely time of it. Really, the IV didn't bother you too terribly much either because you fell asleep as they inserted it. Literally fell asleep. I've never seen anything like it. The doctors and nurses were so kind and gentle with you and you cooperated like an angel. I wish I saw more of that behavior at home, dear, but I'm grateful that you pull the act off in public at least.
Your Aunty Jo visited as well as Poppy and Granny and Aunty Sherri called to check on you as well. You ordered room service pizza and raspberry jello and watched cartoons all afternoon long on the Sprout channel. Honestly, you had a great day of it. I bought you a dolly that's the perfect size for you and you've been carrying your "baby" around ever since. I left her in the car accidentally when we got home, but you protested until she was safely tucked back in your arms. I also got you your first Bible. It has beautiful color pictures and it focuses on the womens' stories of the Bible. It's a great first introduction.
Needless to say all medication has been put up high out of your reach now. We won't be relying on child proof caps to keep you out of anything anymore. I'm grateful that we learned our lesson without any harmful consequences to you.
All my love,
Mama
