Dearëst Zoë,

I haven't forgotten about you, sweetness.  You're actually at the core of every thought I have these days, but life has been hectic and I haven't had the opportunity to slow down long enough to reflect and write on it.

I did take you Weedon Island Preserve this morning for a program they do for kiddos your age.  They read you Eric Carle's The Tiny Seed and then we created a sunflower from tissue paper and glitter dots.  Or to be more precise, I glued together the pieces and you applied the sparkle.  It's amazing how much a mama can accomplish with only two arms and one brain.  While I balanced you in my lap, I applied the glue stick with one hand and tugged the paper petals out of your grip with the other, wrestled the bottle of Elmer's glue away from you, prevented the sunflower seeds from disappearing into your mouth, again wrested the bottle of glue away from you, retrieved petals fallen to the floor in the heat of our struggle, got them glued into position, prevented you from tearing them all off again, again wrestled the glue bottle out of your grip and finally, assisted you in getting the sparkle bits off their plastic backing.  And you applied them.  Yet with that little act, it all becomes "your" work of art and a piece I display proudly on my wall at work.    =)

We had such fun together.  I'm so glad you're my daughter.  I love you with all my might.

All my love,

Mama
